KABETOGAMA TOWNSHIP REGULAR MEETING December 5, 2006
Chairman Robert Nevalainen opened the board meeting at 7:05 pm. Board members present were Chairman Robert Nevalainen, Supervisors Richard McGregor, Edward Town, Clerk Mary Manninen, and Treasurer Jean Reichow along with 3 guests. All attending recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
Agenda – Supervisor Edward Town moved to accept the agenda with one change, add cell phone service to old business. Seconded by Supervisor Richard McGregor. Motion carried.
Minutes – the minutes of the November 14th meeting were read and approved on a motion by Supervisor Edward Town, seconded by Supervisor Richard McGregor. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report –
Kabetogama Township Checking Account,
No change in the Lodging Tax Account
Lodging Tax Account,
Supervisor Richard McGregor moved to accept the treasurer’s report as read, seconded by Supervisor Edward Town. Motion carried.
Old Business:
Cell Phone Service - There was a discussion regarding the progress of cell phone service in our area. There is no new information but as soon we get more specifics it will be reported at a board meeting.
Community Building Committee – there is ongoing process of trying to obtain funds and grants to help with the project.
Planning Committee – there was no meeting for this month but the draft of the comprehensive plan will be put on the township web site for residents viewing. MAITI - Public Officials Liability (E&O) policy regarding Planning & Zoning Coverage Endorsement tabled to next meeting to obtain more information.
New Business:
Snow Plowing Contract - A contract was signed by Jay Tomczak to plow the Pucks Point Township road at $20.00 per run. Jay has all the insurance that the township requires.
Supervisor Edward Town moved to accept Resolution #2006-12, Resolution Designating the First Tuesday After the First Monday in November as the Town General Election Date. The motion was seconded by Supervisor Richard McGregor, Motion carried. The question of whether to designate the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of even numbered years as the date of the town general election will be placed on the March 2007 ballot for the town electors. If this is passed we will no longer have March elections.
Claims for approval – There was a motion to approve these claims by Supervisor Richard McGregor. Supervisor Edward Town seconded. Motion carried
The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 pm on a motion by Supervisor Richard McGregor, seconded by Supervisor Edward Town. Motion carried.
