KABETOGAMA TOWNSHIP REGULAR MEETING November 9, 2004
Vice Chairman Edward Town opened the board meeting at 7:00 pm with the Pledge of Allegiance. Board members present were E. Town, R. McGregor, M. Manninen, J. Riechow, M. Tomczak along with 11 guests.
The Agenda for this meeting was approved on a motion by Supervisor R. McGregor. Seconded by Vice Chairman E. Town, motion carried.
The board read and approved the October board meeting minutes with one correction. Treasurer J. Reichow was not present at this meeting. Vice Chairman E. Town made the motion, Supervisor R. McGregor seconded, motion carried.
The Treasurer’s report was reviewed by the board and approved with one correction. A deposit from last month was written as $240.00 but was only $204.00. Vice Chairman E. Town made the motion, Supervisor R. McGregor seconded, motion carried.

Old Business:
Mary brought in some information regarding a new copy machine. The township, fire department, community club and possibly the lake association could make use of this machine and also cover the cost together. This machine will be installed at the fire hall for use. When the other entities make a decision as to whether they are interested in this machine they will contact Mary and a final decision will be made at the December 7th meeting.
Community Club Building Project – Sande read the response letter being sent out to the community. During discussion of this letter it was decided that all land owners in the community should receive all correspondence sent out regarding this project. Information will be passed along at the township meetings as things progress.
A decision regarding the soon to be planning commission is being tabled to the December meeting. The township did not get enough applicants to fill the positions and Supervisor J. McMahon who is to be on the commission was not present due to a family illness. Many questions were asked regarding the purpose of this commission, what the commission’s responsibilities would be and what rights they have as a commission. Mary will contact Bridget Chard and try to get as much information as possible for the December 7th meeting.
New Business:
Variances – The board looked over the variance for Julie Kepler gave their approval. St. Louis County will be making the final decision.
Tourism Bureau – Vice Chairman E. Town moved to accept the new board members to the Kabetogama Tourism Bureau as follows: Betsey Warrington, Julie Kepler and Jerilyn Carlson. Supervisor R. McGregor seconded, motion carried.
The board received notice that there has been excessive dumping in an area on Gappa road. Supervisor E. Town will speak with the property owner and try to resolve this matter.

The meeting was adjourned on a motion by Supervisor R. McGregor, seconded by Vice Chairman E. Town, motion carried.
