Old Business:

Mary brought in some information regarding a new copy machine.  The township, fire department, community club and possibly the lake association could make use of this machine and also cover the cost together.  This machine will be installed at the fire hall for use.  Mary will bring completed information to the November meeting for approval.

Supervisor E. Town and Fire Chief L. Warrington attended the St. Louis County Planning Commission meeting held on September 9, 2004 regarding Merit Development/Cedar Cove Resort.  Their conditional use application was denied without prejudice.  Denial without prejudice means that the Planning Commission would be willing to rehear this case provided certain issues are sufficiently addressed.  It was also found that there is a statute that states the Kabetogama Fire Department shall approve the design of roads, building location and design, and water supply for fire fighting purposes.

Community Club Building Project – the next step will be to respond to all the letters received from community club members.  The committee will be formulating responses to all letters received and then will plan another public meeting.

Marlene Tomczak reported that sod will be laid and the signs should be installed next week sometime.  Marlene also asked that the fire department water the sod periodically.

Roads – the township roads were graveled and graded by Tom Long and are in very good shape at the current time.  Supervisor R. McGregor will look into getting some gravel hauled to the canister site.

Burn Site – A motion was made by Supervisor E. Town and seconded by Chairman J. McMahon to pay the $65.00 bill for cleaning up the debris out of the burn site into a canister, motion carried.  The Kabetogama Lake Association covered the cost for the sign at the burn site.  The chain was installed also.

New Business:

An additional group has been added to the Comprehensive Land Use Commission (Planning Commission.)  There must be 5 members (Kabetogama Township land owners.)  An official notice will be in the Sentinel newspaper.  A motion by Supervisor R. McGregor seconded by Supervisor E. Town to develop an ordinance for a Planning Commission consisting of five land owners from the Kabetogama Township one being a township supervisor, motion carried.

Wage Change – Supervisor R. McGregor moved to increase the wages of the township clerk from $8.00/hr to $12.00/hr beginning October 1m 2004, seconded by Chairman J. McMahon, motion carried.
