Old Business:

Lake Association Membership; Chairman Nevalainen contacted a township attorney who stated that there are no statutory laws to approve such a membership by the township. This item could be brought up at a township annual meeting and voted on by the township electors.

Quit Claim Deed; The quit claim deed that Clerk Manninen sent to the registrars office was denied for numerous reasons. A new quit claim deed was prepared by Minnesota Title and Abstract of International Falls. It has been brought to the board to be signed and will be submitted again to the registrar’s office for filling.

Deputy Clerk Tomczak went to all 4 banks in International Falls to find out who might have the best rate on a money market account. Bremer Bank had the best rate if the deposit were to be $10,000.00 dollars. Supervisor McGregor moved to open the account with the full $10,000.00 dollars. The additional funds have been levied already by the township and will be added to the existing funds to make up the difference. Seconded by Supervisor Town Motion carried.

Hiking Biking Trail; The trails have been mowed twice the there has been some usage. More signs are needed and the sign that is there right now is incorrect.

Roads; Supervisor McGregor will contact Jay Tomczak and ask if he still would plow Puck’s Point Road what rate he has in mind and if he has the proper insurance. Chairman Nevalainen will have a contract available when necessary.

New Business:

The area at the canister site where all the brush gets hauled needs to be pushed up into 4 piles so they can be burned after the now flies.

Lee Herseth president of the Kabetogama Lake Association spoke with surveyors who were working in the area of the proposed cell tower site. They informed him that most of the survey markers in the area are missing. The township should contact the county regarding this matter since there will be a need for surveys around this area in the near future.
