New Business:

Mr. Dennis Tabburt from Rural Development in Virginia, MN attended this meeting. Mr. Congdon made the contact and asked him to join our meeting. Mr. Tabburt gave a very informative presentation on how the sewer district could apply for grant money from rural development. Mr. Tabburt will be asked to attend the working meeting for Puck’s Point Subordinate Service District in September. If he can’t make this meeting we will try for another time in the near future.

Old Business:

Hazardous Waste drop off date. Chairman Robert Nevalainen asked to have a reminder for the date of hazardous waste drop off at the canister site put on the board across from the Community Hall. This will be taken care of by a board member of the Kabetogama Community Club.

Community Hall – Sande Moyer reported that she received a letter from Mr John Carmody saying that they have received much support from other members in staff at the University of MN. He also stated that there should be a plan submitted in the next couple of weeks. Sande also found out that they do not need a certified Architect to draw up the plans for the new hall. Marlene Tomczak, president of the Kabetogama Community Club found a discrepancy on the ownership of one of the parcels of land that the community club owns. The tax statement showed that the township was owner instead of the community club. A quit claim deed was drawn up and signed at this meeting changing the ownership back to the Kabetogama Community Club. This will be sent in for recording.

Planning Commission – There was no planning commission meeting held in August. On August 6th there was a public meeting to review and comment on the Township Comprehensive Plan. Another meeting will be held to review these changes at a later date.

Pucks Point SSD – Edward Town reported on the meeting with the DNR and the engineering firm, (Shane Sparks). They found out that the land they have been looking at near Woodenfrog Camp ground can’t be sold because it is School Trust Land. It can possibly be leased. This will be researched further.
