Old Business:

State Point Road – Supervisor Richard McGregor and property owner Paul Sheffler will look at the area and determine how much brush can be cut so the stop sign is more visible. The township will look for a volunteer to cut the brush out.

There is some question as to weather the township roads have had chloride put on them. The county employee who is grading State Point Road should be instructed to spread the gravel out instead of pushing it into the ditches. Supervisor Richard McGregor will call the proper authority and discuss the issues.

Larry Scott had made a complaint on the removal of sod from the side of the road in front of his house. Supervisor, Richard McGregor did make a phone call regarding this matter.

Bike Path – Chairman Jack McMahon made a phone call regarding the development of the bike path on the lake. The path was designed so that the bikes are to travel the same direction as the traffic. The law states this
Jean Reichow reported that no further action has been taken at this time on plans for a new Community Hall. Jean is looking for a volunteer to take over this project because she does not have enough time to put into it.

Corner improvement project – Marlene Tomczak attended a meeting with the St. Louis County Public Works department. She was looking into the idea that the county engineers might be able to help with the project. The County will let their engineers help and the money being given from the Lake Association, Kabetogama Community Club and the Kabetogama Township will be paid to the County Engineers ($3,000.00) total.

Waste Water Treatment – The waste water information display that was set up at the pancake breakfast, June 22, at the Senior Citizens’ Building went extremely well. Bridgett Chard, an independent consultant on wastewater treatment and Ken Olsen, from the University of Minnesota were there to answer questions and hand out information on varying types of treatment systems. On July 7, two seminars will be held the first to begin at 9:00 a.m. and the next will begin at 6:00 p.m. to provide information on treatment systems. On July 8, a question and answer session will be held at the same times. Information on these meetings were already in the mail to residents
Clerk Mary Manninen will try to get the Township information on the web site in a timelier manner.

New Business:

The matter of the Kabetogama Township auditing the books of the Kabetogama Fire department will be tabled to the next meeting. Supervisor Edward Town will contact Ron Moyer the treasurer of the fire department to determine when the best time for the audit to take place would be.
