TOWN OF KABETOGAMA REGULAR BOARD MEETING May 3, 2005
Chairman Edward Town opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. All attending recited the Pledge of Allegiance. In attendance were Supervisor’s Edward Town, Richard McGregor, Robert Nevalainen, Treasurer Jean Reichow, Clerk Mary Manninen and Deputy Clerk, Marlene Tomczak along with 11 residents.
The agenda was approved on a motion by Supervisor Richard McGregor, seconded by Supervisor Robert Nevalainen. Motion carried.
The minutes from the April meeting were passed out, read and approved on a motion by Chairman Edward Town seconded by Supervisor Richard McGregor. Motion carried.
The Financial report was read by Treasurer Jean Reichow. The report was as follows:

Lodging Tax Account
Financial Report approved on a motion by Supervisor Robert Nevalainen. Seconded by Supervisor Richard McGregor, motion carried.
Old Business:
Planning Commission - Chairman Edward Town moved to appoint the following persons to the Planning Commission, Paul Kiner, Niles Wilkins, Betsy Warrington, Alan Burchell, Philip Hart and Supervisor Robert Nevalainen. Seconded by Supervisor Richard McGregor. Motion Carried. Chairman Edward moved to pay the commission members $50.00 per meeting attended. Seconded by Supervisor Richard McGregor. Motion carried.
Cell Phone Service - Jim Jansen from the Crane Lake area is working with the proper business to try and get service to Crane Lake, Ash River and Kabetogama Lake areas.

Insurance - Supervisor Robert Nevalainen is gathering information as to weather the Kabetogama Township, Kabetogama Fire Department and EMS should all be insured together. It seems that this would save the Fire Department $400.00 per year. More information will be gathered and discussed at a later date.
Ash River Fire Protection - St Louis County agrees that something different needs to be done to provide the Ash River Area with fire protection. There will be an open meeting in September with the residents of these areas.
Roads - Supervisor Robert Nevalainen will find out where road signs can be obtained for township roads.
Tax Delinquent Property - Chairman Edward Town moved to have Clerk Mary Manninen draft a letter and send it to the county stating that the township is interested in this piece of property. Seconded by Supervisor Richard McGregor. Supervisor Richard McGregor moved to create a resolution to obtain the property. Seconded by Supervisor Robert Nevalainen. Motion carried.
There were no claims to be approved at this time.
Supervisor Robert Nevalainen moved to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Supervisor Richard McGregor. Motion carried.
