Old Business:

Ron Moyer was asked if he would act as the moderator for our annual meeting. Ron agreed. Supervisor Richard McGregor made a motion to pay the moderator $50.00. Seconded by Supervisor Edward Town.
There was no new information from the Community Action group. Jean did report that there was reimbursement for the mailing of the booklet.

Waste Water Treatment committee did not have any new information except for the information given from Terry Nevalainen.

Ron Moyer gave a report from the Kabetogama Fire Department. He indicated the department was considering buying a tanker truck. It is an army truck with a 5000 gallon tank that will have to be remodeled to fit a 3000 gallon tank. He stated the Fire department had the funds to cover most of the costs of the truck but the problem being, the truck is too tall to fit under the present doors of the Fire Hall. The solution would be to build a new building to house the tanker truck. The Fire department would have to obtain a loan for construction, with additional levy monies asked for, for repayment of the loan.

The board would like to have the Fire Chief, Tim Tomczak, give a report at the township annual meeting.
Clerk Mary Manninen will call the Auditors office and ask about the amount we must levy for the roads. The Auditors office always sends the townships a letter stating how much they should levy for roads. If we levy that amount we would be sure to get the gas tax reimbursement.

Supervisor Richard McGregor will inquire as to having the Community Hall parking lot plowed before the annual meeting.

New Business:

Thor Herseth and Jay Tomczak will drive around the lake area and examine what road signs need to be replaced, fixed or made new. Once this information is compiled, a letter will be sent out and the signs will be taken care of.
Supervisor Richard McGregor told the board that Dan Christianson from the Assessors office would like to attend our next board meeting to discuss property values and why their values will be going up.

Marlene Tomczak gave an update on the Walleye and surrounding area beautification. The grant is for $116,000 thousand with a 20% local match from the Voyageurs National Park ($23,000). The park would like to put their sign up but not by the walleye. They would like to put it just up from Gateway Store on County Road #122, or up by Bait and Bite. Everyone at the meeting thought that just up from Gateway Store would be a good idea.
The following claims to be paid were approved on a motion by Supervisor Richard McGregor. Seconded by Supervisor Edward Town. Motion carried.
