TOWN OF KABETOGAMA
The minutes from the January meeting were read and approved on a motion by Supervisor Robert Nevalainen, seconded by Supervisor Richard McGregor, motion carried. The treasurer’s report was read by Jean Reichow and approved on a motion by Chairman Edward Town, seconded by Supervisor Richard McGregor, motion carried. Old Business: Bridget Chard discussed the next steps for the Subordinate Sewer District along with some of the processes the township will be following as far as finances go. Surveys will be going out to the landowners to get personal information from them to get a better idea of what type of systems may or may not work in this area. A meeting with the homeowners will be set for a later date in the spring. Bridget did not have her contract with so it will be approved at the next township meeting. Roads – more information was received regarding the DNR grant. The grant is available for $16,600.00. There is a cash match and as funds are spent we will send receipts to the DNR and we will be reimbursed. Chairman Edward Town moved to submit the grant to the DNR, seconded by Supervisor Richard McGregor, motion carried. Planning Commission: Send questions to Kate Miller from VNP so she has an idea of what the people from the areas concerns are. The commission would like to get a committee for the fire wise plan and possibly a community promotion committee. Resolution: The board passed a resolution # 2006-02 to Establish a Policy for the Compensation & Reimbursement of Town Officers. Supervisor Richard McGregor moved to accept this resolution, seconded by Supervisor Robert Nevalainen, motion carried. Chairman Edward Town moved to accept $18.00/hr as compensation to township officers who miss work to perform township duties. This amount is inserted into the resolution # 2006-02 Seconded by Supervisor Robert Nevalainen, motion carried. Combining Clerk/Treasurer and moving the township election to November will be discussed at our next township meeting when more information is available. Claims – the following claims were approved on a motion by Supervisor Richard McGregor, seconded by Chairman Edward Town, motion carried.
