Supervisor Richard McGregor will call Commissioner Mike Forsman to follow
up on a phone contact made by Supervisor Jack McMahon regarding county

Ron Moyer gave a report on the Community Action Plan from a phone contact
he made with Nancy Larson of the Land Use Board. She indicated it would
probably take six meetings at a cost of $1,000.00 per meeting to come
up with a plan. The agency she works for, would pay half the cost. Hopefully
the Township would be able to obtain some grants to apply to this project.
The Supervisors discussed to levy monies for Community Action Plan
for 2004. No amount was decided at this time.
Waste water treatment was discussed with input from Ron Moyer and Larry
Warrington. The Township will incur costs pertaining to this project.
Bridget Chard, from the ARDC (Arrowhead Regional Development) charges
$50.00 per hour for consultation, projecting a cost of $3,000.00. Supervisors
discussed levying monies for this project for 2004. No amount decided
upon as yet.
Sandy Moyer stated she is still working on a zip code for the Kabetogama
Lake area and reported she delivered the fruit basket to John Stegmeir.
New Business:
Supervisor Edward Town made a motion to appoint Judy Wichner, Gladys Cole
and Sandy Moyer as the Election Judges for the Townships annual elections
held on March 11th, 2003; and that the hours the polls will be open will
be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Elections will take place at the Kabetogama
Fire Hall. Supervisor Richard McGregor seconded. Motion carried.
Ron Moyer gave a report from the Kabetogama Fire Department. He indicated
the department was considering buying a pumper truck. It is an army truck
with a 5000 gallon tank that will have to be remodeled to fit a 3000 gallon
tank. He stated the Fire department had the funds to cover most of the
costs of the truck but the problem being, the truck is too high to fit
under the present doors of the Fire Hall. The solution would be to build
a new building to house the pumper truck. The Fire department would have
to obtain a loan for construction, with additional levy monies asked for,
for repayment of the loan. Discussion for go-ahead on this project will
be voted on by all eligible voters at the annual town meeting.
Jean Reichow declined a hourly wage for her treasurer work, but stated
that she would like to receive the $50.00 per month even if she is not
able to attend the meeting as she still had the work involved preparing
a financial statement. Supervisor Edward Town made a motion to pay Treasurer
Jean Reichow $50.00 a month even if she is not able to attend a regular
meeting of the Kabetogama Township. Supervisor Richard McGregor seconded
the motion. Motion carried.
