KABETOGAMA TOWNSHIP PLANNING BOARD

MEETING MINUTES

APRIL 2, 2007

The meeting was held at the Kabetogama Community Hall and called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Paul Kiner.  Members present were Paul Kiner, Phil Hart, Niles Wilkins, Betsey Warrington and Bob Nevalainen.  Also attending were Kathleen Przybylski, VNP. 

The minutes were read and Niles made a motion to accept the minutes.  Phil seconded, motion carried. 

Much time was spent working on the comprehensive planning draft.

New Business:

The Commission talked about the spiny fleas that were found in Namakan and Rainy Lakes.  The planning board would like to make a recommendation to the Kabetogama Township Board to recommend to Voyageurs Nation Park to move restrictions on to the interior lakes if the spiny fleas are found in them.

Make a recommendation to the Township Board to have meetings twice a year with guest speakers from Voyageurs National Park the DNR and such. 

The Commission would like to see a sign at the Arrowhead trail saying trailhead parking. 

Elections were  held for new board members.  Marlene Tomczak and Betsy Warrington were elected to three year terms.  Niles & Phil have one year left and Paul has two hears left.  Paul Kiner was re-elected as Chair and Betsy was elected as secretary.  

A motion was made to adjourn the meeting by Phil Hart, seconded by Niles Wilkins.  Meeting was adjourned at 8:45 pm.
