KABETOGAMA TOWNSHIP REORGANIZATION MEETING April 3, 2007
Chairman Robert Nevalainen opened the meeting at 8:40 pm. Board members present were Supervisors Richard McGregor, Edward Town, Clerk Mary Manninen, and Treasurer Jill Kiner.
The Agenda was presented and approved on a motion by Chairman Robert Nevalainen, seconded by Supervisor Richard McGregor, motion carried.
The minutes from the April 2006 reorganization meeting were read and approved on a motion by Supervisor Edward Town, seconded by Supervisor Richard McGregor, motion carried.
Chairman, Vice-Chairman – Supervisor Edward Town moved that Robert Nevalainen remain the Chairman, motion seconded by Supervisor Richard McGregor, motion carried. Supervisor Edward Town moved to have Supervisor Richard McGregor become Vice-Chairman, seconded by Robert Nevalainen, motion carried.
Board Meeting Schedule – Supervisor Edward Town moved to keep the meeting schedule as is, the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm. During the fall and winter months Oct. – March at the Kabetogama Fire Hall and during the spring and summer months March – Sept. at the Kabetogama Community Hall. These are the dates of the monthly meetings; Jan 2nd, Fed 6th, March 6th, 13th, April 3rd, May 1st, June 5th, July 3rd, Aug 7th, Sept. 4th, Oct 2nd, Nov 13th, Dec 4th. Motion seconded by Supervisor Richard McGregor, motion carried.
Official Newspaper – Supervisor Edward Town moved to keep the Voyageur Sentinel as our official newspaper. Seconded by Chairman Robert Nevalainen, motion carried.
Mileage rate – the current mileage rate is set at 48.5 cents per mile. Motion to approve by Supervisor Edward Town, seconded by Chairman Robert Nevalainen, motion carried.
Wages – Supervisor Richard McGregor moved to pay the Chairman, Clerk and Treasurer $12.00 per hour for their township duties, the Supervisors will receive $50.00 per meeting attended and the Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer will receive $50.00 per meeting only when filling in for the Clerk or Treasurer. The Planning Commission members receive $50.00 per meeting attended. The Election Judges will receive $8.00 per hour for election judge duties. The motion was seconded by Supervisor Edward Town, motion carried.
Road Supervisor – Supervisor Edward Town moved that Supervisor Richard McGregor be appointed to road supervisor, seconded by Chairman Robert Nevalainen, motion carried.
Meeting Notice Posting Place – Supervisor Edward Town moved to keep the posting places at Gateway Store and the billboard sign across from the Kabetogama Community Hall. Seconded by Supervisor Richard McGregor, motion carried.
Chairman Robert Nevalainen moved to adjourn this meeting at 9:11 pm, seconded by Supervisor Richard McGregor, motion carried.
