Old Business:

The board discussed responses from Bridget Chard, Small Communities Project Coordinator, and Mr. Ruppe, Attorney at Law, to the letter that was sent to them regarding billing.  Both parties agreed that there would be no more correspondence between them unless it was requested and approved first by the board of supervisors.

Supervisor Edward Town moved to have Clerk Mary Manninen send a letter to all the residents of the Pucks Point Sewer District informing them of the draft of the engineering report that is now available on the Kabetogama Township web site.  If someone can’t get it from the internet they can request a hard copy from the township.  Supervisor Richard McGregor seconded.  Motion carried.

Phil Hart, representing the Kabetogama Lake Association, requested that the township pay the light bill from down at the walleye.  Chairman Robert Nevalainen moved to pay the light bill directly or donate the funds from the township lodging tax account.  Mr. Nevalainen will speak with a township attorney to find out what is the legal procedure for this transaction.  Supervisor Richard McGregor seconded.  Motion carried.

Paul Kiner gave a report from the planning commission meeting held on Monday, February 5th.  The complete minutes from that meeting can be seen on the township web site under Advisory Committees and then Planning Commission Minutes.

Chairman Robert Nevalainen will contact the North American Wetland Engineering firm and have them resubmit a bill that they had recently agreed to change.

Two additional 911 signs had to be purchased.  Chairman Robert Nevalainen spoke with the county about the $50 reimbursement.  The board agreed that waiting until a later date for this would be fine.

New Business:

There will be spring training in March and April for township board members.  The closest training to our area is on April 6th at the Fortune Bay Casino.  Board members are encouraged to attend.

The board recently obtained information that the areas from Orr to Crane Lake or maybe Orr to Kabetogama could possibly be considered for the construction of a Federal Prison.  The board would like a letter sent to David Dill requesting more information on this matter.

Clerk Mary Manninen was asked to draft a letter to the Ash River Trail Tourism Bureau asking if they might consider having the Kabetogama Township be the governing body that could collect their lodging tax.

The Kabetogama Lake Association has asked that the township forgive the loan of $1,000.00 that was given to them in 2006.  This request was tabled to a later date for further consideration.
